Mousey fun time !!

Well we did have an up and down,  wet and windy weekend with a wee bit of sun in between !!  It didn't seem to know what it wanted to do !!  Anyhoo hope you peeps all enjoyed the weekend and we start yet another week !!

Mousey fun time again at House Mouse and Friends with our "Birthday" challenge for you this fortnight to include a Birthday sentiment !!

This little mouse has such a big grin on its face, it must be be its Birthday !!

Because my fabulous rose trim is a bit OTT and very girly,   I went for it with the fantage aged rose as well which has pinks and gold in it !!  The light isin't cartching it very well round the sides and edges...

I love the "happy" die cut which comes from a Stampin Up set of dies. The paper  is by Dovecraft called "Sweet Paris" and has a lovely vintage feel. Coloured my little guy in with Spectrum Noirs as usual.

We have some super prizes up for grabs again from our lovely sponsors

We are super happy and very proud to welcome back the wonderful, the One and ONLY, the Official Mousey Family...

Just made it with this one !!

Here's my take on Tim's March tag,  really enjoying these monthly tag challenges !!  Managed all the techniques on this one, but didn't have any tissue tape. I've used on my embossing paste swirls silver pearl instead of gold embossing powder which I couldn't find,  hiding somewhere in my craft heap I expect !!

Here's Tim's inspiration for us all

It's amazing seeing all the wonderful different takes on this tag. Check them out HERE

Friday project + FREE stamp !!

Morning guys,

It's my turn for a cute Little Claire friday project for you and I'm using

 " Daisy the Sheep" !!

This spring decorated jam jar is ready to be filled with easter goodies !!

 You will need:
Little Claire "Daisy the Sheep" dinkie stamp
White card
One sheet of Little Claires Gingham 6" x 6"  in blue
One sheet of Little Claires dinkie gingham in blue
3D foam tape
Fine line black pen
Pastel promarkers in blue, pink, yellow, green and flesh colour.
Blue gingham ribbon
Jam jar

1: Cut a piece of white card 2 1/4" x  9 1/2".  Stamp Daisy four times 1" in from right and colour in, then hand write "Just for ewe" over each sheep. Add a row of faux stitching to top and bottom.
2: Cut two strips from the 6" x 6" blue gingham sheet measuring 2 3/4" wide, join together at one end and cut strip to 9 1/2" long. Now matt sheep border onto this.
3: Onto another piece of white card stamp Daisy 5 times and cut out just her body and head and colour. Also cut out the tiny flowers and colour. Mount all sheep onto 3D foam tape and put to one side.
4: Cut a 2 1/8th circle of white card and stamp Daisy and colour, then hand write "Just for ewe" above her. Cut a 2 3/8" circle from the dinkie gingham square and matt Daisy circle onto it adding some faux stitching around edge.
5: Now wrap your Daisy band around the jam jar and glue ends together, then mount the cut out Daisy sheep over the matching colour sheep on band. Next fill jar with easter goodies !!
6: Cut a 5 1/2" circle from the yellow gingham square and mould over top of jam jar and tie ribbon round.
7: Now glue Daisy circle to top and add last mounted Daisy cut out.

8: Finish off by gluing the cut tiny flowers around the main band to cover the gaps between the Dasiy sheep.

How about making a jar filled with crafting goodies for a friend or chocolates for a teacher !!  We'd love to see what you fill yours with.......

Springtime

always brings happy memories for me as my mum loved to celebrate spring/easter.  More and more of us now love home decor and my mum use to love doing it when we were kids, but Blue Peter style.

She use to make an easter tree which was a branch from a tree which she then covered with tin foil and decorated with chicks and eggs and bits and pieces she had.

Now that brings me nicely onto my bit of springtime home decor (not Blue Peter style)  as "Springtime" is our next challenge theme at Little Claires for you.

My little banner is made from squares of chipboard cover with Little Claires Dinkies mini gingham papers which you can find HERE. Then decorated by stamping, colouring and fussy cutting out Tulip Bunny, Butterfly Bunny and Hunny Bunny

Yes I stamped and fussy cut out more tulips from the pot that Tulip Bunny is holding,  mad or what !!

Then finished off with some chipboard letters coloured with pastel promarkers, die cut some white dollies and tied the banner squares together with ribbon.

Can't wait to see what Springtime creations you guys come up with . Pop over now and check out all the wonderful makes by the team !!

Daisy

Daisy the Sheep is one of the 11 new dinkie stamps from Little Claire and is such a sweetie !!

Here I've just made a simple round card with lots of layers and faux stitching. I use dots to colour in a lot , but have just found out from Woodware that the technique is called "Pointillist" as you will see HERE ,  mind you mine is very simple....

A new dinkie - Daisy the Sheep

Now you don't just have to stop at one Daisy, why not have five !!

A super spring card with jumping pastel coloured woolly Daisy's !!  Shame about the photo, it was one of those dull wet days with no light....

Anyway why not check out Daisy and all the other fab 10 Dinkie stamps at Little Claire !!

hugs Diane xx

Watercolour Bokeh take two

Morning guys !!

Yesterdays laugh of the day, but a sad sign of the times was me setting off Tesco's alarm with a jar of HONEY !! Yes my Manuka honey which is for my dogs had a security label which didn't clear when I paid for it. Did you know that the meat also is security protected ?? Sad but true.....

Anyhoo...here;'s my second attempt at a Bokeh background.

This time using fresh bright oranges and yellows and the sweet Little Claire Silhouette Cats which you can find HERE.  The sentiment is again from a Doo Lally Pip set .

And here's my card from yesterdays post.   Two different backgrounds and one technique, give it a try and see what you can come up with !!

Hope you all have a fabulous day...

Watercolour Bokeh

Hope your now going " what on earth is that "  like I did !!

Well its a fab fun, but messy technique you can do to make backgrounds !!  You'll find loads of great tutorials on You Tube if you want to have a go.

So here's my first attempt which I love...

I've done this one in lovely spring colours.  Sadly the Little Claire Silhouette Dog stamps are not available at the moment, but the cat ones are and I'll show you another card using them tomorrow.  The dogs work so well with the Doo Lally Pip large sentiment stamp !!

What'd you think then .....

Just inked up my cloud effect sky and hand drew the grass using Spectrum Noir pens,  stamped and coloured my mice flowers and then fussy cut them out and mounted onto 3d foam tape. Covered chipboard letters with dotty green paper and again mounted them using 3D foam tape. Mounted this panel onto a purple matt and then onto my white card blank.
