Jumping for Joy !!

as I had one mousey stamped and coloured image left from my last card, so just had to make another birthday card !!  The weather has turned so wet and cold you need something to make you smile....

Got my little sewing machine out and added real stitching be it a bit wonky...still adds some texture. Inked and distressed all the edges and glittered some card candy.

Decoupaged the cupcake and mouse, then finished it all off with some real lace and a bow !!

Thank you

Isin't it wonderful to visit a crafty friend, sit and drink tea, eat wonderful homemade cake, put the world to right and then come home with a few crafty goodies !!

Well thats what I did with my friend Nicki last Sunday and that deserves a super thank you card I think !!

 and here it is...

This cute stamp is by LOTV and a past present from Nicki !! I started by making a sunray background paper at the bottom of my card leaving the top plain using strips of blue and green paper and then adding the stitching. Then embossed the whole lot !!  The flowers were made using a quilling die and I used the same die to make my edging.

Coloured my cute bunny and butterfly with spectrum noirs, made a light cloud effect sky and hand drew the small flowers and grass. Fnished with some faux stitching around the edge.  the letters came with the paper pad, I just used a banner punch to punch then out.

It's so nice to say thank you to someone....

Well what can I say, but fabulous !!  The sun shone for us and we had a lovely coach ride to the NEC and got there just in time for the two minute silence....

And this is what you see as you walk into the show !!

The hand knitted wreaths were just wonderful...

Steve was really busy on the Little Claire stand and all the team's creations looked fab !!  Just had to buy a few things myself...

Say hi to Lindsay Mason...

I was really impressed with the show this year,  all the demonstrators had time to chat with you and seemed relaxed and not too tired.  It was really busy and there were loads of make and takes  and classes,   just not enough time to do any !!

 And loads of crafty bargains.........

Chip butties

Now you must be wondering why on earth I am doing a post about chip butties ??  Well I haven't had one for years and years and they bring back memories of when I use to work in a hairdressers over thirty years ago,  we had a pub down the road from us and in the winter we use to go down and order chip butties for out lunch !!   How warm and cosy were they....

Anyhoo how they came about today is the reason I am blogging about them.  I'm now a mobile hairdresser and mainly my ladies are older and house bound for one  reason or another.  Hilda is 96 and the power was being cut off while they do some tree trimming so she has no electric today. The last time it happened and she was off for several days,   nobody gave her a thought and she went without a hot drink and hot food for several days !!   She is a proud lady and wouldn't ask for help....

This time it wasn't going to be the same, hence I took her a flask of tea and fish and chips for her lunch.  Still nobody other than me has called on her......

Please, please please give an elderly friend or neighbour a thought when its cold or the power is off...it means so much and brightens their day .........

hugs Diane xx

You are......

going to adore this months Little Claire's Elephants club stamp set !!

They are adorable and suitable for birthdays, baby cards etc. My first card I have used the larger elephant stamp with loads of stars and pearls and coloured using spectrum noir pens !!

The second card I have used the smaller stamp of the same image,   but you don't have to make a small card,  I've stamped the image three times !!

I drew round the letters onto a piece of white card, then coloured it with the same pink spectrum noir pen as I used for the elephants and cut them out so you could see the spotty background paper through them.  Then raised this panel with 3d foam tape.

This card would be lovely for any mum young or old !!

Loads more inspiration by the team to be found on HERE

Photo Weave

Something a bit different this morning guys !!

I saw a photo weave technique in a book in a charity shop which had all sorts of pop up and outs for your scrapbooking pages and knew I had go give it a go.

You need two photos the same,  one in colour the other black and white.   The instructions were very vague, but on my second do and then undo and start again,   I got it all most right and I'm so chuffed !!

My friend Carol and I had a great day in Brighton and although the weather was very murky it was quiet warm, we even had an ice cream on the pier and just people watched.....

I've used some net ribbon, made my own shell embellishment with paper clay and coloured, then finished off with my most favourite thing...frantage !!
