New !!

Sorry to moan guys, but I don't do HOT.....in and out of an oven ( car ) all day. hot hairdryers and ladies feeling ill because of the heat is no fun for me !! But I do love it when I'm home....

Anyhoo hope all you guys are enjoying some of the sun too...

Now Little Claire have some new christmas silhouette stamps out so please pop over and check them all out HERE  !!

Here's one called " Snowman Tree " and I've stamped him onto one of the new  Dinkies Falling Snow papers in pale blue.

The rest of the papers came from my stash.  I love the blue and purples together and have inked all the edges with purple. Die cut the big snowflake and added stickles to make it sparkle, a ribbon bow with a big gem and a line of gems to add more sparkle !!

Lavender 'n' Lace

Lavender is my fav colour,  guess its my age and love it with green  !!

Did some water colouring on these cute little guys and mixed in with Spectrum Noir pens. Made the flowers with a punch and then shaped them, the centre is a fringe die. Also used a die to cut the leaves.

Embossed some patten paper and card with an embossing folder and topped it all of with a lacey bow !!

This was fun to do as the main thing was to make your own ink pad and plaid background. had to be a bit inventive as I had to wrap elastic bands round a Mod Podge pot to create my plaid effect, very inky fingers !! Don't drink coffee so my tag was all about TEA !! Roughly hand drew a mug, the morning token was given to me by a friend which was just right for the tag.

Here's Tim's inspiration for us this month...

Fiskars Butterfly Punch

is a neat handy punch to have. I was very lucky and won mine on Fiskarettes UK Community fb page recently and just had to have play !!

You can use the punch waste...

  or the punched out butterflies

or go just use one by itself....

Love this last one, made the background with distress inks, then splattered with water, stamped in grey with a scrip stamp, did some faux bleaching effect with a small swirly stamp and then stamped it again using black ink. Finish off with the sentiment and then coloured my punched butterfly with the blue distress ink and added three little pearls.

As I said a handy punch to have in your stash......thanks Fiskars !!

One sardine tin....

..yes it started out life as a plain sardine tin, but then I attacked it !!

First I covered it with texture paste, let it dry then gave it a coat of brown acylic paint topped of with Rusty Hinge distress stickles. Then glued two large beads for feet.

The stamp set I've used is "Hoist the Flags" by Lindsay Mason

I cut an oval of white card and a strip to fit inside the tin, then stamped the scene so it carried on all round the tin. I'm amazed I got it all to match up !!  Stamped the little boy, girl plus bunting onto some more white card, coloured using pastel promarkers and fussy cut out.

From paper clay I made some stones to go in the bottom and then covered with stickles so I could stand the little boy up
Using a Marianne die I cut a tree out,  coloured it and chopped it up and re-arranged it on the left.

Finished off with stamping the sentiment, cutting it out, adding the bunting and little girl, topped out with some green stickles !!

Ta dah.... one decorated sardine tin !!

to you if you are celebrating something, be it your Birthday, Wedding Anniversay or passed an exam !!  At House Mouse Monday Challenge our teamie Kate has chosen the theme "Congratulations" for this fornights challenge and I've made an Anniversay card for a friend of mine.

I've made a circle side stepper card which will rock as my base. Stamped my lovin mices, coloured and then fussy cut out and added some frantage embossing powders, well actually a lot of frantage all over the place !!

It was my Birthday two weeks ago and my sweet friend Nicki gave me as part of my birthday present a flower die so just had to give it  a try !!

Added a strip of burlap, ribbon and pearls to finish off and the quote was by John Lennon which fitted my card perfectly..

May's ATC swop

at Jo's, was "Flowers" and I did the same sort of water colour technique we did on Tim's tag the month before, but ATC size.

I thought they were really pretty in a grungy sort of way,  if you know what I mean....just stamped my flowers and then water coloured them adding a blue wash background and some ink splatters and then distressing the edges before mounting them onto a kraft act blank.

Thanks to everyone for my fab swops back !!

Enough said...

...well I don't know why I'm showing you this old photo of me and my brov...

yes I do, to give you a laugh !!

My brov liked to take part in the local pubs New Year fancy dress do's and guess who had to make his outfits !! This year he wanted to go as a lion so I did no more than dye an old sheet brown and make him a romper suit adding a tail and then this head piece...

Which had to be trimmed into shape ( good thing I'm a hairdresser, pity about my bad hair do ). Shame I don't have a photo of him in the whole suit !! Before my scrapbooking days.....

Anyhoo for the lay out I just did some ink splatters in blues and oranges round the out side, cut 1/2" strips of patten papers and folded in half, then punched buttons from some of the papers. Did two circle matts for centre, matt my photo and hide a journerling tag underneath. Cut the title on my cricut and finished with a twine bow through one of the paper buttons.

Hope it made you smile.....

hugs Diane xx
