Friends......

It's super having a crafty friend who you can spend days together just enjoying crafting. Carol and I call them our "play days"

The other week we each did a scrap lift from this page
Carol loves Gorjuss Girl stamps and has a few...

 This is my scrap lift

I've paper pieced my Gorjuss Girl image coloured her hair, skin and socks using promarkers. This was just up my street with all the fussy cutting and faux stitching !!

Another lovely page to add to my album...

Birds in Squares

Morning guys,

Today I have for you a lovely spring Little Claire friday project using "Birds in Squares" digi download.

Little Claire has some fab digi downloads which are just right for paper piecing as you can make them any size you like.

You will need,
 some white card,
a piece of white copier paper,
4 pieces of patterned paper in yellow, green, pink and blue,
3d foam tape /pads,
ribbon,
white gel pen,
promarkers

Print your image onto a A4 piece of white card on the right hand side.  Also onto a piece of white copier paper.

Next print your image onto a piece of green and yellow patterned paper.

Using the white copier paper and using small pieces of patterned paper print all the small elements you want to paper piece ie the birds, fence flowers leaves etc and cut out.

Now onto white card print just the two big birds, large flower head and large heart and paper piece. Also print your sentiment, I have used Little Claire's digi super sentiment 8 and coloured the small elements using promarkers.

Next paper piece your other elements onto the yellow patterned paper, omitting the large birds, heart and flower.

Cut round each square and glue to green patterned paper.

Then glue this to your white card which will be your card base.

Score in half leaving a small margin on left hand side and trim.

Now mount your birds, heart and flower head onto 3d foam and attach to front of card. Finish off by adding a bow and the round sentiment to side of card and a with a white gel pen colour the dots on the heart and birds wings.

One lovely spring birthday card.

Here is another card using the same technique, but with  "Sleeping Doggie" and super sentiment 7. This time the fold is at the top  and I have cut round the chair to make a shaped card.

So why not give paper piecing a go !!

hugs Diane xx

Just For Fun

Day two of our new release stamps at

 and today its

"Just For Fun" and "Lets Celebrate"

I've used "Just For Fun" for my make, I don't really know what to call it....a handbag card/gift all in one !!

My cute handbag is a tent card with a extra 2"at the top for the flap over. I've coverd the outside and inside with patterened paper which is 1/8" smaller. The front has a pleated lace border with bows and I've made the roses using paper air dry clay.

After colouring with promarkers, I die cut the image out and layered it twice. Added another lacey die cut to the back of this and finished by adding pearls and attached it to the front using a 3D glue, so the handbag flap could tuck behind.

Inside has two pockets which could hold gift vouchers, money, cinema tickets anything you like really...

On the pockets i have added half a lacey die cut and again added some more fab pearls !!

To finish off I cut two half circles to make the handle and embossed with dots before adding to the back.

This little bag could easily be made into a mini book to hold photo's as well !!

You must check out all the team's makes today !!

  5 New Release Stamps

on our

and the design team have some real fab creations to show you !!

Today it's

"Meeting Friends" and "Prom Dress"

Here's my bit of inspiration for you....

Photo frames are so easy to make for that special or every day photo. "Prom Dress" is just right for so many special photo's !!

My frame is made from two pieces of card cut at 6 1/4" x 8" with a 1 1/4" border. I've embossed the top piece and then attached to front with 3d foam. Remember to leave top open so you can slide your photo in.

I've paper pieced and then fussy cut out my image and finished off with some colouring with promarkers. Mounted her onto a heart die cut with 3d foam then attached to frame front. Then die cut another smaller heart and stamped "Smile" onto it.

Cut some swirls from the matching pattern paper and made my lollipop flowers from the same paper and card using 3 sizes of circles .

Finished off by adding some pearls and inking all the edges.

One very cute frame....

Then stamped the cats and made the brickwall with repeat stamping, using the little bricks.  All finished off with a blue bow !!

Another side of me..

I still don't look at myself as a scrapper

( one who scrapbooks that is )

even though I was introduced to the world of scrapbooking by Christina at AMOM some  years ago now. But I do love it....

I have always loved taking photo's and started very young with camera's which came from the local jumble sale and had  pull out leather bellow len's which use to get worn and my fab Dad had to repair for me !!

Every picture tells a story and this one of my friend Kim and her first grandchild Freddie who is 2 now speaks volumes...

It was scrap club last Saturday at AMOM and the theme was "Love" someone or something and I chose this photo to scrap.

It's amazing how differeant all our LO's were with all of us using the same design, embellishments,  but mixtures of differant papers. I love the vintage, a bit grungy look, so loads of crumpled , distressed , inked paper for me.

The zip is a die cut,  how fab is that !!

And a hidden journling tag with key at the side...I'm going to add the date in the little frame.

Excuse the pun, but I LOVE this page and really enjoyed making it, so thank you Christina !!

I love elephants !!  When I saw one of the new release silhouette stamps  from Little Claire was elephants, I was in heavan !! They always remind me of my Dad....

My Dad spent the war in India and bought back with him some lovely local made wooden carved elephants and as a child I adored them and as I got older started my own collection.

This silhouette makes a fab peaceful scene ........

Picnic

are the next two fab silhouette stamps released today by Little Claire's

You will find loads of great inspiration on the website HERE and on our blog HERE

Here's what I did with "Picnic"

They looked like a romantic couple to me  so made an anniversary card. This would also make a fab engagement card !!

I stamped and then embossed the image onto a piece of white card,  then used a pink distress ink to colour the card and splattered it with water to give it the mottle effect. Mounted this onto a piece of black card. I then coloured another piece of card using the same distress ink and die cut my roses out. The patterened paper is from my stash. To finish off I drew a black line round all the edges and added a ribbon bow.

I forgot to tell you yesterday.......each day you have a chance to win one of these fab silhouette stamps !!  What you're waiting for, check it out now !!
