Sending a Smile

This weeks challenge over at Woodware is "Sending a Smile"
For this cute card I have used two sets of Woodware stamps,  "Farmyard Animals" and the sentiment is from "Peeking Over". Both sets are by Francoise Read.

I used two different sized circle dies by Spellibinders to make the frames for my animals, fussy cut each animal out and then 3d them. Then as always coloured the animals with my fab promarkers. Paper is by Stampin Up. To finish it off I just had to do some faux stitching round the edges !!
Made me smile !!

Feeling Fruity ???

Now that got your attention didn't it !!

The challenge over at Crafty Ribbon's is called "Feeling Fruity " So I hunted through my small ( ha,ha) stash of stamps to see what I could find and found a Woodware set designed by Jane Gill called "Ice Cream Parfait"

My card turned out being very bright and cheerful because of the fab little cherries which are included in the set, which I've used to stamp the top and bottom borders. The main images are three ice creams in dishes of which two I have used. Some really fun sentiments are also included so please do check them out !!

As usuall I've coloured in with promarkers and used glossy accents on the glass dishes and 3D the middle ice cream. Then used some fabby spotty read ribbon to finish the card off !!

Pop over to Crafty Ribbon's to check out the challenge and they are also having a DT Call which you might be interested in as well !!

Knobby Gnomes !!

I`m not kidding,  Knobby Gnomes is the name of the Stampin Up set of stamps I have made this card with !!

This is the sketch I used from Simply Stampin challenge

I know I say I love most of the time,  but I really do love gnomes !!  And there are some great characters in this set and some fun little elements.
The paper and punch are also from Stampin Up and I have used promarkers to colour the images. I fussy cut the flower and leaves and mushrooms. It's a bit hard to read the verse, but it reads,

Good friends are like rare books
hard to find, precious and few.
I'm glad I have a friend like you.

I had to share this.......

I have no political view,  just a humane one...
Diane

He is a Chief Master Sergeant in the USAF serving in Afghanistan
As high as you can go in enlisted ranks (E-9)
Wouldn’t it be fitting if this went completely around the world!
John Gebhardt’s wife, Mindy, said that this little girl’s entire family was executed.
The insurgents intended to execute the little girl also, and shot her in the head…but they failed to kill her.
She was cared for in John ‘s hospital and is healing up, but continues to cry and moan.
The nurses said John is the only one who seems to calm her down, so John has spent the last four nights holding her while they both slept in that chair. The girl is coming along with her healing.
He is a real Star of the war, and represents what the combined service is trying to do.
This, my friends, is worth sharing. Go for it!! You’ll never see things like this in the news.
Please keep this going.
Nothing will happen if you don’t, but the world needs to see pictures like this and needs to realised that what we’re doing over there is making a difference.
Even if it is just one little girl at a time.

God Bless you Cheif Master Sergeant Gebhardt.

Little Gem

I am a dog lover as most of you know,  well I love all animals !!  So I couldn't resist this cute stamp by

I really am trying to get geared up for Christmas and I think this little Christmas rocker card is a good start.

I've used a Spellbinders die to cut the beaded circle round Little Gem and a Cuttlebug  die to cut the big snowflakes. I hate loose glitter so always used Stickles to add sparkle !! Good old promarkers to add a bit of colour !!

Team A's turn this week to inspire you so that includes me and for my card I have chosen to use Moorag and Friends

I love all the Moorag images and decided to use the coloured version and one of the sentiments.
I used one of the spellbinders dies to layer the image up and  a Cheery Lynn die for the swirls. To make my flower I used an EK Success six petal flower punch, punched out four flowers, embossed them using a cuttlebug folder and then formed it into a rose shape. I also embossed  a white bachground layer.

See, it is possible to make a very girly card even with cows on the front, if you know what I mean........

The rest of the team have some more great designs to show you over at The Crafty Pad Blog so check them out and why not have a look over at The Crafty Pad Designs for some fab images !!

Get Well Soon

The challenge this week at Woodware is "Paper Piecing" which I love doing because I love fussy cutting as you know !!

I`ve used a WS Designs teacup template to make my card and the stamps are  Artemio- Fleurs. The papers are by Wild Rose Studio called Bella. The sentiment tag is from a Woodware set called Tiny Greetings & Tags. You can't really see very well on my photo, but I have stamped the backgound stamp from the Fleurs set on the teacup to add texture and then used a cosmic shimmer mica powder to give some texture.

Shrink Plastic Fun !!

Anyone who has used shrink plastic knows what fun it is to use !! From watching in horror as it curls up and then unfolds into a mini master piece to chasing it about trying too shrink it in the first place!!

You either love it or hate it !!

I for one love playing with it and jumped at the chance when I found out that Woodwares challenge this week is Shrink Plastic !!

Just cut 2" x 2 1/2" pieces of white shrink plastic to make each banner flag and used Sakura glitter pens to make the patterns with. Punched two large holes at the top of each flag and then shrank.  The owl and sentiment are from the Woodware set called "Wizardry" by Francoise Read.

The team at Woodware have some fab creations to show you using shrink plastic, so please pop over and have a look !!
